Prosthetic Concepts is
owned, operated and founded by Paul E. Osborne C.P.(c).
Paul is Prosthetic Concepts' Director of Prosthetics and
is a certified Prosthetist with the Canadian Board for
Certification of Prosthetists and Orthotists bringing
to his company over 20 years of experience nationally
and internationally. Paul
specializes in making and fitting artificial limbs for
amputees. It was always his vision to help as many
people as possible live fuller lives through his
innovations and work in the prosthetics field.
In 1983, Paul graduated
from George Brown College in Toronto, Ontario.
From 1983-1995, Paul
worked at the
Rehabilitation Centre for Children in Winnipeg, where he
began his career in Prosthetics. The Rehabilitation
Centre for Children in Winnipeg is a former Shriner's
Hospital with a world renowned reputation for dealing
with child amputees, specializing in Myoelectric and
Sports Prosthesis. During Paul's time in Winnipeg, he
volunteered for
Help the Aged (Canada) and traveled yearly for 3 1/2 weeks to St. Kitts, West Indies, to
assist with the St. Kitts/Nevis Orthopedic Program at
the J.N. Frances Hospital.
Paul is active in the national prosthetic associations. He has served as Secretary Treasurer for both CBCPO (Canadian Board of Certified Prosthetists and Orthotists and CAPO (Canadian Association of Prosthetists and Orthotists) and was instrumental in the amalgamation of these 2 associations into the current association OPC (Orthotics Prosthetics Canada). Paul continues to be active on the national level by volunteering as Candidate Liaison for the certification exams.
Ron Booker, Orthotic/Prosthetic Technician,
graduated from George Brown College in
Toronto, Ontario, in 1990 and brings extensive experience
to the prosthetics industry and our company.
Angie, RN and Office Manager, graduated from University of Alberta in 1997 and brings a special insight to our team.
Prosthetic Concepts continues to improve the quality of
products, procedures and services, to better meet the
needs of each individual client. Prosthetic Concepts'
staff stays abreast of innovative, cutting edge
technology through continuing education, conferences and
workshops.
Working
hand in hand with the local health authority
professionals and rehabilitative teams, Paul avails
himself to providing personal, quality treatment and
rehabilitation for his clients. As a dynamic team member
in the rehabilitation process, Prosthetic Concepts'
clients live independent, active lives.
The clients who attend our
clinic present a number of different prosthetic
challenges and we do our utmost to research, accommodate
and assist them in restoring their preferred way of
life, regardless of the difficulty. Our clients range
from new amputees to national athletes, children, adults
and seniors.
